Three Shires Head
A spur of the moment winter walk. I woke up to frost and mist and as I hadn't used the camera in 2015 I rang a friend and we headed up to the Cat and Fiddle about 45 mins to an hour drive away.
Once above the mist it was glorious sunshine and loads of snow. However by the time we got to Three Shires Head after an hour walk through snow and mud and set up our tripods, the mist had risen and the walk back was through a heavy snow shower.
Surprisingly not much snow around the waterfall compared to other parts of the walk but it was a great fun day out and it was nice to be stood in a river taking pics again.
Three Shires Head is a small waterfall on the River Dane and the point on Axe Edge Moor where Cheshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire all meet. The main landmark is the Grade II-listed 'packhorse bridge', constructed in the late 18th century, and part of a trade route in the area.
